Ceremony Celebrant
When someone you love dies, the days that follow can feel impossible. You may not be eating, sleeping, or you may be in shock, and yet there’s a funeral to arrange, family to contact, and a life to honour. It can be hard to put one foot in front of the other, let alone find the words. Please know: whatever you’re feeling right now, it’s allowed. There’s no right way to grieve.
I’m Fayon Dixon, a celebrant based in Somerset, and this work is close to my heart. I’ve spent a lifetime around loss, and I understand that saying goodbye can take many forms: quiet and still, or full of life, colour, and shared memories. Every ceremony is different, whether a joyful celebration of a life well lived or a simple, dignified farewell. Whatever feels true to your loved one and your family, I’m here to help you find it, so you can feel supported and focus on those you love, and on yourself.
I haven’t lived your loss, and I won’t pretend to know exactly how you feel, but I do know how to listen, and how to carry the administrative weight of planning a funeral, so you don’t have to carry it alone.
Please get in touch, and we’ll start the conversation together, whenever you’re ready.
My celebrancy journey started over 20 years ago, marrying my dear friends at their wedding. However, it was lockdown that changed everything.
My friend Bob passed away alone in hospital. 87 years old, a four-time cancer survivor, gone with only six of us able to say goodbye. His cousin Molly asked me to organise and conduct his funeral. Drawing on years as a broadcaster and presenter, I gave Bob the farewell he deserved. In that moment, I knew: this was where I belonged.
Ceremony and connection is who I am.
From classrooms to concert halls; from reading to stroke survivors to hosting radio shows, the setting has changed, but the mission never has: lift people up, change lives.
Funerals have become the most meaningful work of my life. It would be my privilege to support you and your family.
